113 Late

I am in the office late doing some resarch for a seminar I have tomorrow on a topic I don’t have a power point for.  Yeah.  When I see on the internal email a message from the Captain that just says Rough Weather.  This was the email to all dept heads to, essentially, batten down the hatches and secure everything that can be secured.

The email include the words “deteriorating weather”  We are currently rocking pretty good and the wind is howling, waves are cresting higher than my porthole, but the wake has kept them from doing what I have heard called the “washing machine”

We have two days to go at sea before we hit Balmer and it looks like it might be interesting.

  1. Now you viscerally understand that the phrase “moved safetly out to sea” isn’t so safe or happy to everyone…
Welome to the Maritime Life, Doctor.

    • I’m not doing too bad and the seas are about, well I have heard 10-15 foot swells. But if you stand in the open on deck 11 (a good 70-80 feet off the water line, you get salt spray in your mouth, the winds are 30-45 mph)

At least a lot of people are nauseated and I can help with that.

You think this has to due with the hurricane? that seems to be pretty far south.

  2. Look at it this way… for all the mis-adventures and comedy of errors that have occurred, you have some great stories. Hope that good days with better stories are waiting through the storm.
